Query Critique

It's time for the first query critique of 2016!  For everyone who enters (and those who don't) spread the word so that even if you don't submit a query, you encourage others to read and comment.  Thanks :)

If you're not familiar with how to enter, take a look at my previous post to read the rules.  Good luck!  And don't forget to post any questions you want me to answer in the comments section with the hashtag #IHAVEAQUESTION!

    Thanks for doing this!

At your agency, you have a form, with some specific guidelines--I'm assuming when running the contest, do you just want the query part--no pages, synopsis, etc.?

And... are you checking all of those you receive "as" queries--or only the 8th--meaning those who didn't win who still want to query you should submit a query the normal way--through the form at Prospect?

Oh, and is it OK to send my query 8 times in a row? (Just kidding...)

    1. Yes, you just need to submit a query letter for the contest--nothing else! I only look at #8, but if you won't win this round, you can feel free to enter as many times as you like.

If you don't win the query critique or even if you do, you can still submit your submission to me for consideration through the Prospect form!

It isn't about the critique, but about querying in general.

Is it okay to re-query agents about the same book if it has been a year and you have revised your story?
